Lordi

Lordi is a heavy metal band from Finland.The concept for Lordi was devised in 1992, however, the band was not formed until 1996 by Tomi Putaansuu (known as 'Mr. Lordi')Members of Lordi are well known for their elaborate monster-like costumes worn during live shows and in music videos.

Lordi won the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with a record 292 points, giving Finland its first ever victory.

Members of Lordi always wear masks at interviews and have stated their desire for their personal identities to remain private.

This is not the style I respect. The fact they were on Eurovision makes them a pop band. Their music is pop indeed. I didn't know they are from Finland. But I am not surprised, almost all Finnish bands plays in the same pop-pseudo-metal style. Of course there are really ingenious bands from Finland but their music is far far away from the music of well known Finnish bands.
I think I can be myself, that means being malicious in the harmless way. I am not wondered that they hides behind their masks. If I were one of them I would wear the mask too. Because of shame Wink

I get annoyed by people who only like them because of the eurovision song contest i liked them for at least 2 years before they went on that show and i still love them i think there fun and the music is just so cheesy its great,I always listen to them on the way to college because they cheer me up so much and I think there amazing live i got on front row and got scared though because lordi touched me haha i was like :S omg he looks like a monster and its creepy but god they look amazing hehe i love the one with the big nose ring he's called ox and i idolise him to be honest hes just a great bassist and is really fun.I know there not to everyones taste but i think there just amazing hehe

Well, it changes a lot. If You liked them before the Eurovision You are not the one of the… so called “season fans”. Sometimes some band becomes famous because of something and everybody loves them. It makes me laugh. Mostly these bands are poor, very poor. Because if You are loved by everyone, You are no one for the true art. This is my opinion. But… these bands doesn’t care about that… mostly. They cares about the “ka – ching” Wink
