Video of "Angel of Lust"... For the ones it's a total kitsch without any idea, for the others it's a perfect work which interprets "Nightbreed of Macabria" in the best way of all.
This is fact, video is a little strange thing and it's so much different in comparsion to the usual metal videos. Usually in those videos guys painted in white and black on their faces plays on their guitars, a lot of symbols around, fires, blood, the sinister countenances behind the make-up and so on. And here in "Angel of Lust" members of the band placed on a cartoon background, some animations in sort of "shimmering eyes" or a big anty thing shakes its head for example. It seems, that it is not possible to make a worse video than this.
This opinion surely has a respect at someone who doesn't know T.d.V. or someone who doesn't know "Nightbreed of Macabria", its idea. This is a concept album which presents a story of someone who arrives to strange land called Macabria. A grotesque atmosphere of this album is as discouraging for the ones as fascinating for the others. I can't hide that I always had a benevolent attitude for the concept albums. It seems to me harder to create. A consistency of the lyrics, a consistency of the music and usually a story has been told. Every song has its place in order and there's no place for something separated from the idea.
Grotesque - it's the best word to describe "Nightbreed of Macabria". The denaturalized characters appeared on the way of the one who walks through the lands of Macabria (it is obvious that he is almost the same person who is listening the music), clowns, kids who are playing with skulls, the juggler, the woman made of mirrors and Christ without a head but with an axe in his hand. All of them paints some ghastly masquerade similar to the movies with the clowns with the big teeth who kills the kids and the teenagers with the grimaces of a smile on their faces and the fountains of popcorn are their accompaniment. Whole kingdom of Macabria is completely torn apart from the reality, exaggerated.
Video of "Angel of Lust" could not be different, it has to be the same as the atmosphere of the album. It is necessary to be not incoherent with the rest of "Nightbreed of Macabria". In my opinion this video fits excellent to the rest.
It is worth to remember that the kitsch created from the idea that it should be kitsch as the way of expression is an art as a matter of fact. Somehow or other this video always will be an object of derisions and jokes for the ones and an admirable work for the others. It depends of an individual sense of esthetics and of the comprehension of the album's essence.
I always staring at the "Angel of Lust" with pleasure (and with no pain  ) and I like it very much. I think that Macabria would look so as on the video. Little ghosts loiters among the painted cemetery, painted towers of the castle, painted dungeons, Sonya flashing in mirrors on the drawn wall and Alexander dressed in suit. Is there someone who doesn't feel the grotesque? Rise Your hand above Your head. We will put You then in the paper dungeon and we will set a drawing big anty thing on You

I think it's beautiful and I love to watch it. It's so different, as you wrote. I wish to be there and walk down through this fairy-tale world. I wish to meet those persons including Alex he is so sexy dressed in suit 
only the tdv video will fit that song
